| Project Phase: Design Delivery Method: EPC (Engineer Procure Construct) Statement of Problem: The original project scope required for all grade-mounted HVAC units for convenience of maintenance. However due to the higher cost of grade-mounted units, CCC team qualified their original bid with all rooftop units. During the design development, it was presented that using grade mounted units would add high cost to the project budget based on the upgraded unit construction and added distribution required. The decision of grade-mounted vs. roof-mounted units was discussed and estimated at great length. This delayed the progression of the BP-03 building structural steel package until a final decision could be made since the building steel would be impacted by the weights of the units. |
