| STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Tie rod pockets are not included in basement floor layout. Tie rods extend above columns when setting crown. All 10 tie rods have to be guided by hand into the crown. SAFETY -personel must now be working above ground & under crown when it is being lowered. DAMAGE increased risk to tie rod thread damage as crown is moving past tie rods as it is being lowered. COURSE OF ACTION None LESSON LEARNED Need more communication on a project by project basis. Depends on basement depth, tie rod length, and upright height. |
