STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: Our construction area was adjacent to GLWA office area. The elevators that were needed to get construction materials to the second floor exited into a elevator lobby. The elevator lobby was used by both the plant and construction teams and the floor was a polished Terrazzo floor. GLWA required CCC to mop the floor on a daily basis to remove anything left behind from the construction. GLWA did not want any dust at all on floor.

COURSE OF ACTION: We looked into all options to try to avoid using this area and the elevators were are only option. CCC used carpenter apprentice''''s and laborers to address the issue.

LESSON FOR FUTURE PROJECTS: If a construction path involves trades using an area that is easily scratched, develop a plan on how to address this at bid time. Include laborer for daily cleanup in GCS.
