Job #

DTE-Kiewit Blue Water Energy

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM:

There were no keying requirements in our contract for the doors we installed. We provided construction cores and the owner was going to do final keying. It seemed as if there was a lack of coordination on final keying and the construction cores were being used for permanent keying operations.

COURSE OF ACTION:

Resolution: even if keying requirements do come from the owner side, coordination meetings need to take place prior to area turnovers so they can install all of there cylinder sin the door hardware with their own keys distributed.

ROOT CAUSE:

Lack of scope coordination

LESSON FOR FUTURE PROJECTS:

Coordination meetings need to take place prior to area turnovers so Owner can install all of there cylinders in the door hardware with their own keys distributed.
