STATEMENT OF PROBLEM:

DTE stipulated that Johnson controls be used for HVAC controls and BMS integration, however Trane and Greenheck HVAC units were provided. This created compatibility issues and led to finger pointing as to which party was responsible when issues arose.

COURSE OF ACTION:

None.

ROOT CAUSE:

Procurement direction by Owner.

LESSON FOR FUTURE PROJECTS:

Maintain the same vendor for providing HVAC units and HVAC controls to prevent issues during commissioning.
