| STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: On projects where there is an abundance of laser leveling and alignment, it is often difficult to keep everyone on task. COURSE OF ACTION: None. LESSON FOR FUTURE PROJECTS: We found that assigning a single foreman responsible for managing all the laser tracking activities to be very effective. This ensured consistent direction was provided for the level and alignment activities, the proper information was provided to all the crews, and the laser tracking subcontractor was properly supported and stayed on task. Prior to making this assignment, we were falling behind schedule and performing a lot of rework. |
