Middle Bay Press Temporary Opening Guardrail Issue

  STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
Temporary guardrail around press opening. The north and south sides of the rail were too short for safe working while on the gantry beams. Requires rigging contractor to tie-off while on gantry beams. Could potentially lead to rework/field order.

COURSE OF ACTION
None

LESSON LEARNED
Need to engage the Press Group sooner in the design process to make sure the guardrail detail works for the specific press line and how it will be rigged. Not all press installs use the same gantry beams at the same elevation.
